We provide top quality, safe equipment. We have a number of fully qualified instructors, ready to train you. Having a number of instructors means that at some stage during your training you will have flown with all of them, this provides you with a balanced view from different people that all have varied flight experience and techniques. We have the balance of personnel to give you great all round training. This builds confidence in our students, which is shown in general flying and aircraft knowledge. Our flight training is based on real commercial flying – not just from the syllabus.

Wherever there is the need for an exceptionally light, utility helicopter, you'll find the Schweizer 300C (Hughes 300C). Considered the world's most versatile piston-powered helicopter, the 300C is capable, dependable and reliable.
Its outstanding manoeuvrability, responsive controls and cost–effective operation have made it the worlds standard in the demanding military training environment in 25 countries around the world!
Key safety features inherent in the design of the Model C include:
- Strategic placement of the engine for a lower centre of gravity.
- Shock absorbing landing gear, yielding tubular aluminium seat and energy absorbing fuselage structure for unmatched occupant protection.
- Fuel tanks with break free design placed outside the structure for increased protection from fire hazard.
- Three bladed, fully articulated rotor system to eliminate the possibility of mast bumping.
- Fuel injected to eliminate carburettor icing.
The Helicopter Group changed from the Robinson R22 to the Schweizer 269C in 1999. We had many reasons, but as the above points show, when SAFETY is paramount it was an obvious decision.
Customer reaction was completely positive. In the switch to Schweizer we have not lost a single customer, in fact we gained customers purely because of the aircraft we train in.
Among the students there is a universal acceptance of the new training aircraft. Its excellent flying qualities are immediately apparent, even to inexperienced student pilots and especially those who also have flown the Robinson R22 helicopter. Most people are impressed when they see how easy it is to perform a touch down auto rotation and how much time there is for the pilot to react.
The cyclic in the 300C gives the pilot a far more comfortable grip and a better feeling of control over the aircraft.
The roomy cabin in the Schweizer 300C is a big help in making the student feel comfortable.
